Often times people will ask us “why do you keep using the term “we are to live out the gospel?” It is the utmost proof that there is salvation in ones life when we live it out. Too often people get upset at the hearing of the Word of God and seek to place the blame for their feelings elsewhere. Often times because there are many places in their particular city to worship they find themselves bouncing to the one that tickles their ears, tell them what they want to hear not what God has to say. As The Apostle Paul noted in 2Ti 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
The way that we can know that we are living out the gospel is by being obedient to it. Where there is correction needed, we need to be corrected. Where there is exhortation we need to be exhorted. God has divinely placed each of us in His fellowship where He knows best what is needed. If we develop some bias against those who God places in our path to help guide and direct us we need to go to HIM & not those who can do nothing about it. Jesus was obedient to go to the cross, And I am certain He did not just run to it, because He spent some time in the Garden in anguish over the thought of it. We must realize that in all things God works to the benefit of His followers and He must have the final say so in our decisions or we continue down the path we left behind. Yes, the times are indicative of the way things are going to play out in the days to come and one thing is for certain, only HE has the answer for our needs! Our lives should contain “Joyous Obedience” because of what Jesus has done for us. He is the gospel and we need to deal with one another the way He would. It is time to start looking UP and not out at what I don’t like where He has me.
