I just cant even imagine that it is now the year “2013.” So many things have transpired here @ CCLB in the past 4 years now. From our first day of  prayer back in June of 2008 to our fist “Bible Study” in Aug of that same year. The year 2009 saw our first Sunday service on Easter of that year. We moved from our home Fellowship to our current place of worship @ SDA Building in Aug of that same year. We moved into an office in 2010 where we had our “Chili Cook Off'” for bothy of those years. We have so far celebrated 4 years of our annual “Tamale Cooks” to share with the body that following Sunday after service.  We have again moved back into the home for our “Community Groups” on Thursday Nights to spend more time in Gods Word as a body. Gone is the office, Our Corporate Sunday Prayer, the homeless ministry & a host of people who started with us and who have helped along the way. As the Apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”

What a great opportunity we have this year to be used by God in whatever manner He so desires.  Like the Apostle Paul we must first do the one thing that is required for us to do this and that is to let go of the things of the past. We as a body of believers must let go of those things that God is no longer in. The things that His word instructs us to grasp. This brings to mind a specific verse in His word. Isa 43:18-19(b) “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?  In this coming year it is my prayer that the Lord will move mightily in the hearts of His people and that we will see the work He desires to take place with the Ministry of Calvary Chapel Los Banos. To God be the glory for not only all He has done but will do this coming year both in our hearts and in our fellowship with one another.

Lord bless 2013~ Pastor AL
